Rep. Kathy Lohmer Introduces Anti-Choice Legislation.

Last month, House Speaker Kurt Daudt and many Minnesota Republicans joined a rally in St. Paul to protest abortion on the 43rd anniversary of Roe v. Wade. At the rally, Speaker Daudt informed the crowd that “100%” of the House Republican Caucus is anti-choice. Now, House Republicans have introduced a bill that would dramatically restrict choice for Minnesota women.

Representative Kathy Lohmer of Stillwater, along with other House Republicans, has introduced legislation that would make it a felony for medical professionals to perform abortions after just 6 weeks of pregnancy. The effort mirrors legislation introduced all over the country by Republicans who continue to complain about “big government” until they have a chance to tell women and their doctors what’s best. Despite sustained Republican attacks, a large majority of Americans support Planned Parenthood, and less than 20% believe that abortion should be completely illegal.
