Alliance for a Better Minnesota (ABM) is a nonprofit organization that educates the public about the negative effects of certain policies, politicians and organizations on their quality of life using earned, paid and new media techniques.
Alliance for a Better Minnesota is a member of the national ProgressNow network of organizations. Its legal entities include a 501(c)4, 501(c)3 and state PAC.
What We Do
In the past, progressive organizations would work independently on educating the public about their issues.
ABM provides a unified voice for progressive groups on the issues that matter most to Minnesotans. That means providing issue and opinion research, shared message development, and one-on-one technical assistance to progressive groups.
ABM also works directly with the public and the media on progressive activities and issues-including exposing elected officials for turning their backs on working families in the state. ABMs tactics are creative, so they get attention. And groups can use its state-of-the art the website and new media assistance to organize their own members and activists and keep them updated.
We know that not everyone has access to expensive tools for online organizing and communications and that buying television and radio time is also costly. But together, through ABM, the Minnesota progressive community can use these tools and techniques to amplify their own messages and join in the chorus of the bigger progressive movement.
The name of Alliance for a Better Minnesota means what it states - that through this alliance, we are working to make this state better for all Minnesotans.
