As reported in the National Journal, Norm Coleman has benefited financially from a D.C. political operative in the form of cheap rent, late rent or not having to pay rent at all.
Rent issues aside, this brings up a couple questions:
1) Did Norm Coleman violate Senate ethics rules by accepting lodging from a Republican operative?
2) If Norm’s constituents in Minnesota don’t pay rent, or consistently pay late, do they get to trade furniture for rent with their landlord, as Norm did?
While some might automatically think that CREW is a front-group for the Democratic Party, MN Publius debunks this theory.
