I know the national limelight feels warm
When compared to our cold winter days
And Fox News Sunday appearances
Help Presidential candidates many ways

But we’re the ones who elected you
And we’re facing a really hard time
We’re losing jobs, our roads are bad
We need an advocate to find every dime

But instead of lobbying for us, your own state
You choose to court the wing of the far-right
Are you thinking of national office? We don’t know
We think for us, you should be willing to fight

We are still standing here, your faithful electorate
Hoping for more jobs and funding in the stimulus
We need you to lobby for our state’s projects
So, please, Govenor Pawlenty, come back to us
