The regular legislative session has ended and the Republican majority failed to compromise with Governor Dayton to balance the budget. Everyone is now waiting to see what happens with budget negotiations and a potential special session, which is why we launched the second phase of our post-legislative campaign to set the facts straight about the budget impasse.
We launched StandfortheMiddleClass.org because our legislators face a choice:
$484 million in statewide property tax increases, 140,000 Minnesotans kicked off of health care and $21 million cut from the K-12 budget
OR
42,000 people in the richest two percent would pay their fair share of taxes.
On our website, we’ve created a quick and easy list of legislators that need to hear from you that they should stand up and protect the middle class, not the richest two percent. For each of the legislators, you can see how their choice of budget solutions will affect the middle class–and the richest two percent.
Head on over and sign our petition telling your legislator to support Gov. Dayton’s balanced budget and protect the middle class, not the richest two percent.
