Minnesota’s economy has been steadily improving under Governor Dayton’s leadership. And, it turns out, that women in Minneapolis have something to show for it.
Minneapolis was rated the 4th best city for female entrepreneurs.
The National Association of Women Business Owners reports that women-owned businesses have increased by 59% from 1997 to 2013. Female entrepreneurs run more than 8.6 million businesses in the country, generating more than $1.3 trillion in total revenue.
In Minneapolis, 32% of businesses are owned by women. In addition to the percentage of women-owned businesses, Minnesota’s low unemployment rate and high percentage of college graduates also contributed to our high ranking in best cities for female entrepreneurs.
This great news for Minneapolis is promising for making Minnesota an even better place to live and work.
