The legislator from Glencoe also claimed “if children were raised in a traditional two-parent family, 90 percent of child poverty would be eliminated.”

Gruenhagen expressed his ideas at a hearing on education proposals put forward by Governor Dayton, investing $400 million of the state’s surplus on improving our children’s education.
Bluestem Prairie points out that this isn’t the most controversial idea to come from Rep. Gruenhagen during his time as a legislator. But it might make the Top 10.
