After weeks of inaction, no bonding bill, and a lack of targets on transportation and taxes, Speaker Daudt is now laying blame on Governor Dayton for not “sitting down” with him over the weekend to hash out a transportation deal.
Governor Dayton vowed to create a compromise transportation proposal to try to solve the current (years long) impasse over the weekend. There is growing pressure from communities, businesses and residents across Minnesota to pass a long-term, sustainable transportation plan. Speaker Daudt and his conservative cohort can make all the excuses they want: if nothing happens this session, transportation can be added to list of things they didn’t feel like accomplishing for Minnesota.
