Minnesota conservatives are trying to make it harder to vote by doing things like getting rid of same-day voter registration. But thanks to Governor Tim Walz and progressives in the legislature, they won’t succeed.
What conservatives are trying to do is especially disappointing because Minnesota has long been known as one of the best states in the country for having honest, accurate, and secure elections. And we’ve had the highest voter turnout in every presidential election since at least 2004.
Instead of trying to make it harder to vote, our elected leaders should be working to make sure that every eligible Minnesota voter is able to cast their ballot freely and securely.
And Minnesota progressives have a plan to do just that.
Progressives’ plan would make it more convenient to vote by mail or in person. It would protect election officials from harassment and intimidation. And it would increase transparency in campaign spending.
With your help, we can continue to hold conservatives accountable for trying to make it harder to vote. We can bring our elections into the 21st century. And we can make sure that every eligible Minnesotan can cast their ballot safely and equally.
