I know it’s un-Minnesotan to brag, but we’re pretty smart up here in the land of 10,000 lakes. In fact, our state consistently ranks near the top in literacy and high school graduation rates, compared to the rest of the country.
But we didn’t get here by accident, and we can’t take our achievements for granted.
Without qualified teachers, supportive staff, and safe, modern classrooms, Minnesota’s future wouldn’t look so bright. That’s why progressives continue to fight for much-needed investments in education at every level.
Conservative gubernatorial candidate Scott Jensen? Not so much.
Scott Jensen: putting wealthy corporations ahead of Minnesota students
As a member of the Minnesota State Senate, Scott Jensen voted to underfund Minnesota schools. Despite the proven benefits of expanding early education, Jensen also voted to reduce access to pre-kindergarten in Minnesota’s communities.
Instead, Scott Jensen supported millions of dollars in handouts for wealthy corporations, including tobacco companies. He advocated for ineffective “voucher” programs in a thinly-veiled attempt to gut our public schools. Now, he’s pushing for even more measures that would shortchange Minnesota students and jeopardize our future.
Help us school Scott Jensen on education
We’ve heard from parents all over Minnesota about the issues that matter most to them. We know that many parents are worried about their kids’ schools not getting the funding they need. Now more than ever, we have to work together to stand up to Scott Jensen’s dangerous agenda on education.
How would you grade his record? Let us know at this link.
Together, we’ll fight to put Minnesota students and families first.
