Jensen, Robbins, and Qualls have spent years pushing Trump’s harmful agenda in Minnesota, and that’s not going to change.
Despite what they might say, there’s nothing new or different about conservative candidates for Minnesota governor Scott Jensen, Kristin Robbins, and Kendall Qualls wanting to bring Donald Trump’s extreme agenda that guts Medicaid and health care access, underfunds public schools, and rolls back reproductive rights to Minnesota.
Let’s let their records speak for themselves:
On Gutting Medicaid and Cutting Health Care Access
Kendall Qualls, Kristin Robbins, and Scott Jensen all support Trump’s plan to gut Medicaid and roll back health care access to fund trillions in tax breaks for big corporations and the ultra-wealthy.
Kristin Robbin authored bills in the Minnesota House to defund local rural health care agencies and take health care away from Minnesotans. Robbins also voted against holding Big Pharma accountable for skyrocketing prescription drug prices and opposed legislation that would make life-sustaining medicines like insulin more affordable for Minnesotans.
As a state senator, Scott Jensen voted to give millions of dollars in tax breaks to the ultra-wealthy and big tobacco companies at the expense of Minnesotans’ health care.
On Underfunding Minnesota Public Schools
Scott Jensen has said that public education is “a black hole” and he would put “less money” into Minnesota schools. He also voted to underfund Minnesota schools and reduce access to pre-K for Minnesota’s youngest learners.
As a state representative, Kristin Robbins opposed providing free school meals to kids and voted to underfund public schools.
Kendall Qualls wants to take funding away from Minnesota’s public schools and send it to unaccountable private schools with ineffective “voucher” systems that put kids, classrooms, and teachers at risk.
On Reproductive Rights
As a state legislator, Kristin Robbins authored bills to ban abortion, roll back reproductive rights, and defund Planned Parenthood. Robbins also received a 100% rating from the anti-choice group Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life (MCCL).
Kendall Qualls was endorsed by MCCL and supports extreme anti-abortion fake clinics that spread misinformation, encouraging pregnant people not to obtain abortion care.
Scott Jensen is an anti-choice extremist who would work to ban abortion and roll back reproductive rights. During his failed 2022 run for governor, Jensen confirmed that he would try to ban abortion without exceptions for rape or incest. In the same interview, Jensen said he would sign any legislation restricting abortion that came to his desk as governor.
On Bringing Trump’s Agenda to Minnesota
All three conservative candidates for Minnesota governor are actively seeking Trump’s endorsement.
Kendall Qualls has a long history of supporting Trump. In a Pioneer Press interview in 2019, Qualls admitted to voting for Donald Trump and said he agreed with Trump’s policies. Qualls even hired former Trump campaign manager Bill Stepien as an advisor for his campaign.
Donald Trump endorsed Scott Jensen during the 2022 gubernatorial election.
Kristin Robbins said she would welcome an endorsement from Trump.
We need to hold these conservatives accountable
Conservative candidates for Minnesota governor Scott Jensen, Kristin Robbins, and Kendall Qualls have repeatedly made it clear they support Donald Trump’s extreme agenda to gut Medicaid, dismantle health care, underfund public schools, and take away reproductive rights, all while giving giant tax breaks to billionaires and corporations.
