Ron Schutz Fights for the Ultra-Wealthy
Schutz was the chair of the board of the Center of the American Experiment (CAE), a far-right extreme think tank in Minnesota. CAE expressed support for Trump’s disastrous budget bill that gave massive tax breaks to corporations and billionaires at the expense of working Minnesotans.
CAE also denied claims that Trump’s budget bill would strip Medicaid coverage from Minnesotans, despite 17 million Americans and 179,000 Minnesotans being expected to have their healthcare coverage taken away under the bill.
Ron Schutz Supports Trump’s Violent Federal Agents
After Trump’s federal agents killed two Americans in Minneapolis, Schutz continued to support Trump’s dangerous ICE operation and urged local law enforcement to cooperate with federal officials.

As of May 2005, Schutz was a member of the Republican National Lawyers Association (RNLA). The RNLA worked “hand in glove” with the 2024 Trump campaign. According to Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Whatley, “RNLA’s efforts in the 2024 election were invaluable.” Now, RNLA is celebrating its 40th anniversary and working to support Trump’s agenda.
When asked if he would challenge Trump, Schutz said he could not “answer in the abstract,” and said he doubted Trump would take “some action that would be blatantly illegal.”
