Trump Endorses Lisa Demuth and Ron Schutz.

On Wednesday, October 21, Donald Trump endorsed Republican Lisa Demuth for Minnesota governor and Republican Ron Schutz for Minnesota attorney general. In a post on X, Trump encouraged Minnesotans to vote for Republican candidates up and down the ballot.

“Minnesota conservative governor candidate Lisa Demuth and attorney general candidate Ron Schutz are far-right extremists who support Trump’s agenda that gutted Minnesotans’ healthcare to give tax breaks to the ultra-rich and brought Trump’s deadly ICE operation to Minnesota.

Trump endorsing Lisa Demuth and Ron Schutz confirms what we’ve known this whole time: that Demuth and Schutz would bring Trump’s dangerous, harmful agenda to Minnesota.”

Lisa Demuth can’t name a single policy that she disagrees with Trump on.

Demuth repeatedly sought Trump’s endorsement, claiming Trump “put America first,” that he has “done a great job,” and that he has “delivered.”

In a Star Tribune article published September 24, 2026, Lisa Demuth said she would “work with Trump” to the best of her ability as governor, reinforcing her intention to bring Trump’s agenda to the state. This was at least the eighth time during her campaign that she has vowed to bring Trump’s agenda to Minnesota.

In an October 10, 2026 Star Tribune article, Ron Schutz couldn’t name a Trump policy that has hurt Minnesotans. In a WCCO interview on September 27, 2026, he was also asked whether anything the president has done concerns him enough to sue or even object. Schutz failed to answer. During an MPR attorney general debate on Tuesday, October 2, 2026, Schutz didn’t express concern over anything Trump has done to Minnesota.

When asked previously whether he would challenge Trump, Schutz said he could not “answer in the abstract,” and said he doubted Trump would take “some action that would be blatantly illegal.”

Throughout his campaign, Schutz wanted Trump’s endorsement and said he was interested in the White House “playing a role in this race.”

Schutz supports Trump’s healthcare cuts to give tax breaks to billionaires and corporations.

Demuth is one of the 86% of elected Minnesota Republicans who support Trump’s agenda to gut funding for Medicaid, the Affordable Care Act, and Social Security to hand out trillions in tax breaks to big corporations and the ultra-wealthy.
