While Donald Trump and conservatives in Minnesota are working to ban abortion and restrict reproductive freedom, Minnesota progressives are standing firm and fighting back.

During a speech to Congress, Donald Trump touted his plan to make drastic cuts to the programs Minnesotans rely on, like Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act, slashing health care funding to finance trillions in tax breaks for big corporations and billionaires like Elon Musk. Meanwhile, corporate greed continues driving up costs, forcing Minnesota’s working families to pay the price.

Minnesota conservatives are following the lead of Trump and his Project 2025 agenda. Medicaid cuts, banning trans girls from sports, and restricting access to abortion are all agenda items outlined in Project 2025.

A letter published by a handful of conservatives in the Minnesota Legislature revealed that more than 85% of the Minnesota GOP support Donald Trump’s plan to gut access to health care, Medicaid, and social services while handing out trillions in tax breaks to big corporations and the ultra-wealthy. 

President Donald Trump spent most of his campaign falsely claiming that he had nothing to do with Project 2025. Now, a month into his presidency, nearly two-thirds of his executive actions reflect proposals from Project 2025.

Minnesota conservatives kicked off the 2025 Minnesota legislative session today by illegitimately seizing control of the Minnesota House of Representatives and giving themselves the ability to pass their extreme policy agenda.  

Starting January 1, more than a dozen new measures take effect, bringing greater protections for concert ticket buyers, a higher statewide minimum wage, expanded rights for renters, and lower health care costs.
