In all of Republican Gubernatorial Candidade Tom Emmer’s rhetoric
about not raising taxes, a report released today proves that his
proposed $1.15 billion cut to services provided by cities would result
in an 8.8 percent increase in property taxes statewide, on average.

An article by Minnesota 2020 tax analyst Jeff Van Wychen looks at the
effect of Tom Emmer’s plan to massively cut Local Government Aid by
$1.15 billion. The result shows that, on average, homeowners would see
their property tax bills go up by almost 9 percent.
