Progressive Roundup: Wages, Bullying, Earth Day and Legislation.

progressive roundupcapitolwhiteEvery week, Alliance for a Better Minnesota will highlight the important work being done in the progressive community. Focusing on issues that impact Minnesotan’s lives, this important work helps Minnesota continue moving forward.

Thanks from Mr. President: Today, Governor Mark Dayton will sign the minimum wage increase into law, giving more than 350,000 Minnesotans a raise. President Obama sent a letter of thanks to Minnesota’s progressive leadership for their work doing the right thing for working families.

Anti-Bullying: Governor Dayton signed an anti-bullying bill into law last week. The law helps schools strengthen their bullying policies and helps train teachers and staff how to handle bullying incidents in school. A coalition of more than 100 organizations supported this bill and worked hard to see it passed into law.

Rally for Clean Energy: Clean Water Action is holding a rally on Earth Day, April 22, at the State Capitol Rotunda. Clean Water Action supports legislation that creates green jobs and renewable energy. RSVP to let them know you’ll be joining them at the Capitol.

Keeping up to date: Having trouble following all the action at the State Capitol this legislative session? The Minnesota Nurses Association has you covered. Every week they post an update of what is happening at the legislature and the status of important legislation. It’s a great recap to keep you up to date.
