Paul Thissen Brings the Truth.

The House floor session got a bit feisty yesterday despite its relatively short length. Minority Leader Thissen laid down some sweet truth when it became clear that the MNGOP was canceling a scheduled hearing on a bill that included Ebola funding.

As you might remember, Republicans in Minnesota turned the Ebola threat into a major campaign issue, claiming the state wasn’t prepared and hitting lawmakers who didn’t automatically make it their #1 priority. Where, Thissen asked, did the pressing, urgent need to tackle Ebola go now that the election is over? Why do Republicans keep stalling?

The GOP’s answer was evasive and inadequate: claiming more questions needed to be answered before the bill moves, even though the bill had been before the House Ways and Means Committee for several weeks.
