#DaudtIt: New Website Shows the Real Kurt Daudt

Shines a light on the House Speaker’s broken promises, prioritizing corporate interests over Minnesotans

MINNESOTA – Today, Alliance for a Better Minnesota (ABM) launched a new website, DaudtIt.com, to shine a light on the “real” House Speaker Kurt Daudt.

“Rep. Kurt Daudt is just as conservative as Donald Trump and has spent the whole of his elected career making promises that he doesn’t keep and putting wealthy corporate interests above Minnesotans. He’s not the ‘reasonable’ guy that he and others have portrayed him as,” said Joe Davis, executive director of Alliance for a Better Minnesota. “When Rep. Daudt says something, there are a lot of reasons why you should doubt that he means it, and that’s what we want to show with this website.”

As we head in to the end of the legislative session, it’s important to know we can’t take Rep. Kurt Daudt at his word. The site points to instances where Daudt broke promises to the people of Minnesota, like when he forced laid-off Iron Range steelworkers to wait to receive emergency unemployment benefits despite promising to act immediately to support families living on the brink. And times when he put corporate interests ahead of Minnesotans, like when he stalled on helping Minnesota families struggling to afford health insurance so he could pass a bill that benefited for-profit insurance companies.
