55 of America’s largest corporations paid no taxes last year

A new study came out showing that at least 55 of America’s largest corporations paid no taxes last year on billions of dollars in profits.

Why didn’t they pay taxes?

Because in 2017, conservatives in Congress passed a bill giving corporations massive tax breaks at our expense. And that bill was supported by Minnesota conservatives including Reps. Pete Stauber, Jim Hagedorn, Michelle Fischbach, and Tom Emmer.

Huge corporations should pay their fair share

It’s not right or fair that working people like us pay our taxes every year while huge corporations that make billions of dollars in profits get to avoid paying their fair share.

This is especially true during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In times of crisis, we need everyone to pitch in. And for large, profitable corporations, that means paying their fair share so we can support those who are hardest hit and recover from this crisis.

Progressives have a plan

Thankfully, President Joe Biden and progressives in Congress have a plan to help us rebuild from the pandemic by asking the wealthiest Americans and corporations to pay their fair share. Their plan would not only help us get through this crisis, it would also set a better course for the future of our communities.

The question now is, will conservatives like Pete Stauber, Jim Hagedorn, Michelle Fischbach, and Tom Emmer support the plan or continue siding with big corporations over Minnesota families?
