This week in terrible conservative ideas:
Conservatives are threatening to shut down Minnesota’s state parks.
Why, you ask?
Because they oppose efforts to decrease air pollution from cars, which would clean up our environment.
And I’m sure it will come as no surprise to you who else opposes cleaning up vehicle pollution:
The Koch brothers.
After all, fuel-efficient and electric vehicles are a major threat to their oil and gas profits.
The Koch brothers are major funders of Minnesota conservative groups like the Center of the American Experiment. The Center of the American Experiment has been one of the loudest groups opposing clean cars in Minnesota.
And now the Koch brothers have conservatives in the Minnesota Legislature on their side as well.
The last thing that Minnesotans want is for conservatives to shut down all of our state parks at the start of summer and camping season. But that obviously doesn’t matter to them.
Minnesota conservatives will dress like hunters and fishers when it suits them. But when it comes to protecting our state parks, many of which are in their districts, they represent the Koch brothers, not us.
