These four billionaires paid less in taxes than you

ProPublica just released never-before-seen records showing that these four billionaires paid less in taxes than you:

  1. Jeff Bezos, the world’s richest man
  2. Elon Musk, the second richest person in the world
  3. Warren Buffet, the world’s seventh-wealthiest person
  4. Michael Bloomberg, the 13th-richest American on the Forbes list

The worst part?

They did it all perfectly legally.

And that’s because, year after year, our broken tax system allows the wealthiest Americans to avoid paying their fair share, and sometimes anything at all, in taxes.

Meanwhile, over the last decade, working families paid more in taxes than we accumulated in wealth.

It’s not right or fair that working people like us pay our taxes every year while billionaires avoid paying their fair share and continue to rake in more and more wealth.

This is especially true as we work to rebuild from the COVID-19 pandemic and set a better course for the future of our communities. We need everyone to pitch in.

Thankfully, President Joe Biden has a plan to make the wealthiest Americans begin paying their fair share in taxes so we can recover from the pandemic and build back better.

In Minnesota, that means we could make huge investments in things like education, health care, affordable housing, public transit, roads and bridges, high-speed broadband, and child care – just to name a few.

Unfortunately, conservatives in Congress oppose President Biden’s plan. And that includes all of Minnesota’s conservative congresspeople.

We need you to help us hold conservatives accountable so that we can recover from this pandemic and emerge stronger than before. Sign up now.
