Conservative Attorney General Candidate Jim Schultz Wants to Ban Abortion in Minnesota.

Anti-choice conservative Jim Schultz is running for attorney general of Minnesota and threatening to bring an extreme anti-choice agenda to Minnesota that’s dangerous for working families and wildly out of touch with Minnesotans’ needs.

Jim Schultz wants to ban safe, legal abortion in Minnesota

The Minnesota attorney general is charged with standing up for the rights and freedoms of Minnesotans, but Jim Schultz is threatening to turn back the clock on women’s rights and fight against the right to abortion in Minnesota.

Jim Schultz supports an extreme abortion ban in Minnesota. He promised to go “on offense” as attorney general to attack the right to choose. And he praised the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, eliminate the constitutional right to abortion, and take away women’s freedom to control their bodies and lives.

Jim Schultz even served on the board of an extreme anti-choice organization that holds some of the most out-of-touch positions possible on reproductive health care. For example, the organization compares abortion to slavery and genocide, supports forced birth for victims of rape and incest, and dismisses the need for access to abortion to protect the life of the mother as “completely false.”

Jim Schultz’s anti-choice agenda is wildly out of touch with the needs and wants of Minnesotans. Sixty percent of Minnesotans say abortion should be legal in all or most cases, and sixty-five percent would oppose new severe restrictions on abortion.

Abortion is essential health care. And the decision about whether or not to have an abortion is deeply personal and best left to women and their doctors.

Jim Schultz has made it clear that he does not believe everyone should have the freedom and power to control their own bodies and lives.

Attorney General Keith Ellison will fight to protect abortion rights in Minnesota

Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison has promised to defend a woman’s right to make her own health care decisions and fight burdensome roadblocks that make it harder for people to access safe, legal abortions.

And he has pledged not to pursue or prosecute women seeking legal abortions in Minnesota.

Because of the hard work of progressives like Keith Ellison, safe and professional abortion care remains legal in Minnesota. For now. But Jim Schultz and his conservative counterparts could change that.
