As a gubernatorial candidate, Demuth has repeatedly stated she is seeking Trump’s endorsement. She has been a steadfast supporter of Trump’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, never once condemning the terror they unleashed on children and working families in Minnesota.
Following the drawdown of federal agents, Minnesota communities are still reeling with trauma, and local economies are in shambles. However, Demuth believes that the federal operation “ultimately made the state safer.” As the House Speaker during the 2026 legislative session, she neglected small businesses while progressive lawmakers pushed forward relief efforts.
Lisa Demuth is an Anti-Choice Extremist
Demuth was the chief author of HF 1809, a bill to ban abortion in 2023.
She voted against the Protect Reproduction Options (PRO) Act, a bill to establish reproductive freedom as a fundamental right. She also voted against the Reproductive Freedom Defense Act in 2023,
She received a 100% rating from an extreme anti-choice organization, Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life (MCCL).
Lisa Demuth Fights Against Healthcare Protections
Lisa Demuth was one of the 86% of elected Minnesota Republicans who supported Trump’s agenda to gut access to Medicaid, social services, and reproductive health care to hand out trillions in tax breaks to big corporations and the ultra-wealthy.
She voted against holding Big Pharma accountable for skyrocketing prescription drug prices and opposed legislation that would make life-sustaining medicines like insulin more affordable for Minnesotans.
