Chris Madel Drops Out of Gov Race Due to Trump’s “Retribution” Against MN .

BY:
Today, Chris Madel exited the Minnesota gubernatorial race, saying he cannot support the national GOP’s “stated retribution on the citizens of our state, nor can I count myself a member of a party that would do so.”
The remaining candidates in the race – Mike Lindell, Kendall Qualls, Lisa Demuth, Kristin Robbins, and Scott Jensen – have either expressed support for Trump’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operation in Minnesota or remained silent. They are all still seeking Trump’s endorsement.
“With one conservative candidate now having dropped out of the Minnesota governor’s race in protest of Trump’s ICE operation, Minnesotans deserve to know where the other gubernatorial candidates stand. Do they still support Trump’s ICE operation and want Trump’s endorsement?” said Marissa Luna, Executive Director of Alliance for a Better Minnesota. “Minnesotans are being killed in broad daylight, unjustly detained and abused, and children are being abducted as a result of Trump’s deeply unpopular ICE operation. Minnesotans are united in standing up for our neighbors and demanding that ICE be held accountable and leave Minnesota. And we need leaders who will stand with us and fight back against Trump’s cruel, heartless agenda.”
Two U.S. citizens from Minnesota were killed by federal agents in the last three weeks.
ICE agents have abused local elected officials, detained legal observers without charges, tear-gassed students and teachers, abducted children, and smashed car windows of confused drivers who have crossed their path
In one incident, federal agents abducted a 5-year-old boy who was on his way home from school and used him as “bait” to draw family members out of their home. Agents later took the father and boy away in a vehicle and sent them to a detention facility in Texas.
Last week, federal agents detained and sent a 2-year-old girl and her father to Texas, defying court orders to release her to her family.
Approval of Trump’s deportation program is at its lowest, but Minnesota conservative gubernatorial candidates have either endorsed or remained silent during ICE’s violent operation.
On January 22, Lisa Demuth attended a meeting with Vice President JD Vance and endorsed the terror ICE is unleashing on Minnesotans. Mike Lindell went on the record saying he “absolutely” supports ICE’s actions.
A recent CBS News poll showed that approval of Trump’s deportation program is at its lowest and that 61% of Americans think ICE is being too tough when stopping and detaining people. A majority of Americans feel that ICE is making communities less safe.
