Governor Walz’s speech highlighted the progressive victories of 2023, from making historic investments in Minnesota’s public schools to fighting climate change and restoring the right to vote for 50,000+ Minnesotans.

Minnesotans are sick and tired of having our rights put under attack. Abortion is essential health care. It is unacceptable that our conservative lawmakers refuse to stand up for reproductive rights. 

Our progressive leaders haven’t wasted a minute of this year’s legislative session. This March, they’ve passed several historic bills, with many more on the agenda. 

The Minnesota House of Representatives just approved landmark legislation to stop large corporations from artificially raising prices to increase their profit margins during times of emergency. 

The Minnesota Senate just passed landmark legislation to fund universal school meals for Minnesota students! 

NFIB and the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce represent big, wealthy corporations that have refused to pay livable wages and paid leave benefits to the majority of their employees, forcing them to choose between taking care of themselves and their families or paying the bills. 

In a massive win for LGBTQ+ advocates, the Minnesota House of Representatives passed a bill that bans conversion therapy for LGBTQ+ youth and vulnerable adults. 

Once signed by Governor Walz, the Restore the Vote Act will return the right to vote for people convicted of a felony as soon as their incarceration ends.
