Last night, Governor Walz Delivered the 2024 State of the State address at Owatonna High School in Minnesota. He highlighted the work progressives have done to make Minnesota the best state for children in the country and plan to keep fighting for working families and communities. 

Women are making history throughout Minnesota and across the nation but it isn’t easy to celebrate this month without reconciling with the reality of reproductive rights at this moment.

Since announcing his bid for the White House, Donald Trump has been touting an extreme and anti-democratic agenda, threatening to abuse power, celebrating the end of Roe v. Wade, and promising to enact cruel and out-of-touch policies. 

Once again, Minnesota conservatives are disregarding the needs and wants of millions of Minnesotans in favor of extreme and dangerous restrictions on abortion.

Just like Donald Trump, Nikki Haley has a decades-long track record of extreme behavior, from signing a no-exceptions abortion ban into law as governor of South Carolina to threatening to gut public education and slash funding for programs like Medicare and Social Security. 

To celebrate this Black history and the critical contributions of Black leaders across our state, we’re honoring Black Minnesota Legislators who are making history right now with their work in the Minnesota Legislature. 

Tonight, we watched Trump tout election misinformation, anti-democratic extremism, and divisive policy on a Fox News Town Hall.

Minnesota conservatives have a long history of fueling extremism, division, and undermining our democracy. It is clear from their announcement supporting Donald Trump for president that they will continue to do more of the same this year.
